Home - New York

Welcome to the New York site of the Endangered Bodies International Campaign, a groundswell movement that is wreaking havoc on the status quo around the globe.  Women are fed up with the sea of visual images that do not reflect and represent the diversity of our bodies.  Our mission is to take a stand against the toxic culture that teaches women and girls to hate their bodies.

Through activism, we share our aim to expose the industries that profit from body insecurity, to challenge sexual objectification, to call out size discrimination, and to create social conditions which will enable girls to grow up loving -- not hating or rejecting -- their bodies.

Great mission, congratulations! “Through activism, we share our aim to expose the industries that profit from body insecurity, to challenge sexual objectification, to call out size discrimination, and to create social conditions which will enable girls to grow up loving — not hating or rejecting — their bodies.”

This weekend, Sat. Feb. 14th, Endangered Bodies NYC will take action. We will be meeting for Fashion Week at Lincoln Center to distribute our, “Join the Resistance- Love Your Body- Be You Inside and Out” Stickers. For many, Fashion Week is a dreaded event. The city is flooded with models and everyday women report spiraling into feelings of inadequacy, body shame and despair. Join us there for this liberating, fun and important Action! I will be there at 4:30 will plenty of stickers. Diana will be there until 7:00 PM. All Welcome!

The Billboard Committee just met and I am excited! The new billboard design is taking form and moving forward. Great energy, great ideas and wonderful, talented women. WE are determined to change the visual culture by creating a visual image that empowers people and reflects diversity. Stay tuned…but know that we are working to make the billboard a reality! Can’t wait!!!

Also… The BMI, (Body Mass Index), committee is nearing completion of their educational brochure! The committee is currently working on methods of disseminating vital information that will help educate parents and educational institutions about the damaging impact of weighing, judging and humiliating children in our schools. The BMI pamphlet provides in-depth information about healthy, empowering ways to deal with issues around food, body-image and weight, as it pertains to children.

Our next Endangered Bodies meeting date will be posted shortly. All are welcome. Meantime, post those Join the Resistance-Love Your Body Stickers and spread the word! If you don’t have stickers, come and get them at our next Endangered Bodies Meeting!
